This 3 year programme focussed on an integrated Water and nutrition approach to mitigate fluorosis.
This project designed as an action-research programme focussed on 2 villages with children who were highly affected with Skeletal Fluorosis. Under the advice of a Project Expert Committee and an Institutional Ethics Committee, the programme devised an innovative approach that combined Safer water with Better nutrition to mitigate Fluorosis.
Overall, 25 children were selected from these 2 villages and families experiences a behaviour change programme to adopt Safe water purifiers and Nutrition supplements. Observations were made clinically and through community based studies to see whether the interventions are accepted by the community and if outcomes on health are being realized.
